Lebanese MP Sami Gemayel, Son of Former Lebanese President Amin Gemayel: Hizbullah Will Turn into a Lebanese Gestapo

Following are excerpts from an interview with Lebanese MP Sami Gemayel, which aired on LBC TV on July 3, 2010.

Sami Gemayel: [Hizbullah MP] Muhammad Ra’d said that Hizbullah wants to... He said: “We will hunt them down.”

Interviewer: Yes, he said: “We will hunt down the collaborator wherever they may be.”

Sami Gemayel: They want to hunt down anyone who, in their view, is a collaborator. I don’t know if the Lebanese understand the meaning of this. It means that Hizbullah will turn into a new Gestapo, a Lebanese Gestapo. The Gestapo was the German police in the days of Hitler, which would round up people from their homes.

The Lebanese Army, the police force, and the state itself will be pushed aside, and regardless of law and constitution, Hizbullah will have the freedom to arrest people in their homes.
