Lebanese academic and journalist Akram Hamdan said in a July 13, 2024 interview with Al-Manar TV (Hizbullah-Lebanon) that the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported that hospitals in the Gaza Strip were used as launching areas for rocket attacks against Israel. He explained that this provided Israel with justification to attack these hospitals. Hamdan asked: "Where is the BBC's objectivity and professionalism?"
Akram Hamdan: "What did the BBC do during the Al-Aqsa Flood? It is a fact that during the Al-Aqsa Flood, the BBC paved the ground and facilitated the Israeli targeting of the hospitals. The BBC presented reports that the hospitals were launching areas, used by the resistance, in order to provide justification for the Israeli army to raid the Al-Shifa Hospital and the other hospitals it has destroyed in Gaza.
"Where is the BBC's objectivity and professionalism? The BBC stopped cooperating with an entire team in occupied Palestine, because it did not want to present the reports sent by that team about the attacks and massacres perpetrated by the occupation in Palestine – not only in Gaza, but in the West Bank as well."
