Lebanese journalist and former MP Nasser Kandil said in a July 18, 2024 Al-Manar TV (Hizbullah-Lebanon) interview following the assassination attempt against Donald Trump that America is on the verge of a civil war. He said that neither side would accept an electoral loss and would take to the streets if their party lost the November elections. Kandil stated that black and Hispanic Americans, as well as white Americans, are gathering weapons for this purpose. He also asserted that Trump wants to carry out massacres if he wins the presidential race and that the U.S. racist infrastructure of white Americans "will wreak havoc like the settlers in the West Bank" in Republican controlled states. Kandil further suggested that some states are talking about seceding from the Union.
Nasser Kandil: "America is on the verge of civil war. We have been hearing and reading about this for a while. So much pressure is building... It does not have to be an organized group [that shot Trump].
"In my view, however, America is definitely heading towards a civil war. Even if Trump wins, the blacks and the Hispanics will not recognize... Trump wants to carry out massacres. He says that he wants to deport the students who rose up at the universities, that he wants to send the immigrants back, that he wants to cancel people's residence permits... There are groups in American society...
"He has a racist and out-of-control infrastructure of whites, and they will wreak havoc like the settlers in the West Bank. You will see the same thing in American states, where the pro-Trump Republicans are in power.
"And if Trump loses, it will be worse. The Trump supporters will not recognize the defeat, if he loses, and they will take to the streets with their weapons... They already had a rehearsal...
"Their opponents will not admit a defeat either, and will take to the streets with their weapons.
"I was told by informed people living in America that in the past couple of years, the blacks and Hispanics have been arming themselves more than the whites even, in preparation for the coming confrontation. Furthermore, some states are already talking about seceding from the federal system."
