Lebanese journalist Hassan Hamada blasted French envoy to Lebanon, former Foreign Minister and Minister of Defense Jean-Yves Le Drian on a September 12, 2023 show on Al-Manar TV (Hizbullah-Lebanon). He said that it is ironic that France has sent Le Drian to Lebanon as an envoy, while his country is following an American-Israeli plot to change the demography of Lebanon via the Syrian refugees. Hamada repeatedly called Le Drian "stupid," saying that he is the most stupid person in French public life, the most stupid minister of foreign affairs, and most stupid Defense Minister.
Hassan Hamada: "It is ironic that it is [former French FM] Le Drian who wants to come here and oversee the dialogue between the Lebanese. It's ironic."
Interviewer: "Why do you say that?"
Hamada: "First of all, because of where Le Drian comes from. [France] is leading the process of eliminating Lebanon as an entity, by means of demographic change. In other words, France – and we saw this in the European Parliament resolution..."
Interviewer: "Regarding the [Syrian] refugees..."
Hamada: "Of course. A population change, a demographic change – this is how they are changing Lebanon, all the while, pretending to care about the refugees. They are washing their hands of the blood of their [Lebanese] 'friend.' France is implementing in Europe the American-Israeli decision to eliminate Lebanon as an entity.

Interviewer: "In the diplomatic circles, or in public life?"
Hamada: "Yes, of course. Also with regard to his financial liability."
Interviewer: "They have sent someone who suits the people here..."
Hamada: "Very much so. Very much so. Don't forget that he was the stupidest Minister of Defense in the history of France and the stupidest Minister of Foreign Affairs in the history of France. This is the specimen that they have sent to bring the Lebanese people closer together."
