Lebanese journalist Mariam Majdouline Lahham sharply criticized Hizbullah's new secretary-general Naim Qassem in a video posted on Al-Badeel on YouTube November 2, 2024. She said that Qassem must convince her with actions not words that Hizbullah will be victorious, and that he is showing that the holy city of Qom in Iran is sacred to him, while Beirut and Lebanese cities are not. Lahham said: "Let Iran go up in flames!" "Let Tehran go up in flames!" She added that Lebanon will be the grave of Khamenei and his party [Hizbullah].
Mariam Majdouline Lahham: "When you, Naim Qassem, say that all the ceasefire proposals are nothing but noise, and that Hizbullah will emerge stronger than before the war, both with regard to its resistance [forces] and on the political level – you need to convince me with actions, not just words. This kind of talk has become obsolete.
"Instead of saying that Beirut is sacred and [attacking it] is a red line, and that Baalbek and south Lebanon are sacred, you are telling me that Qom is sacred? After all the prices we have paid – Let Qom go up in flames! Let Iran go up in flames! Let Tehran go up in flames, with its expansionist schemes. May only Lebanon live. Our soil doesn't grow grass anymore, and you are talking about sacred Qom? Nothing is sacred outside of your country's borders.

"Hizbullah will end its oppression only when Lebanon is victorious. It is not Ali Khamenei's party [Hizbullah] that will be victorious. Lebanon will be Khamenei's grave. Lebanon will be your grave, Khamenei! You and your party [Hizbullah]!"
