On a June 5, 2022 show on the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Channel 9 [Turkey], Mauritanian Islamic scholar Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hassan Al-Dadow Al-Shanqiti spoke about the recent controversy sparked by Nupur Sharma, an Indian official belonging to India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, when she reportedly "insulted" Islam, the Prophet Muhammad, and Muhammad’s wife Aisha. Al-Shanqiti said that Arab countries should deport Hindu foreign workers in an act of protest. Show host Muhammad Abd Al-Baqi criticized Sharma for being a "cow worshipper", claiming that she eats cow dung and drinks and bathes in cow urine. Sheikh Al-Dadow Al-Shanqiti is the head of Mauritania’s Center for the Development of Scholars, and a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars. Show host Muhammad Abd Al-Baqi: "The cow worshippers insulted the Master of Humanity and Seal of the Prophets, [the Prophet Muhammad]."

"For you, I will sacrifice my father, my mother, and myself, oh Messenger of Allah. [Nupur Sharma,] the spokesperson for the Hindy party that rules in India, which is headed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, insulted the Prophet Muhammad and [his wife] Aisha. An adult who claims to be sane, worships a cow, eats its dung, drinks its urine, and washes in it in order to be blessed, and then she insults the Master of Humanity! She is an animal, who worships an animal, so nothing should come as a surprise."

"When we talk about deporting the Hindu foreign workers from the Arab countries, and especially from the Gulf countries, some people say: 'What happened to your humanity? These people earn a living in these countries, and have nothing to do with this. They are only there to work.' What is your response?"
Muhammad Al-Hassan Al-Dadow Al-Shanqiti: "Okay, but they follow a certain political party, vote for it, and serve it. [The BJP] party is hostile to the Prophet Muhammad. If they return [to India], that party would have to stop its attacks, or else, it will have to accept all these people who will become an [economic] burden. This is what we want. If all those millions of workers return to India all at once, this will constitute a huge blow to the BJP – not to the workers, but to the ruling party itself."
