In a Friday sermon delivered at the Masjid Al-Huda Islamic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 3, 2018, Sheikh Shaaban Aboubadria mocked women who “want to uncover their hair, wear makeup, and become a commodity.” “Allah ordered [women] to cover up their beauty and not display it,” he said, berating men who allow their wives to do so: “When men turn into she-camels and stop performing their role, their wives go naked and all dolled up.” Sheikh Aboubadria, who serves as the mosque’s imam, added: “Many men have no authority at home but over a single remote control.” In another Friday sermon, delivered at the mosque on March 30, Sheikh Aboubadria complained that in the West, which sends airplanes, tanks, and rockets to wipe cities out of existence, “they only care about dogs and cats, even though Man is the greatest of all creatures.” In his April 27 sermon, he talked about interfaith marriage, saying that while Muslim men may marry non-Muslim women, “for her own good, a Muslim woman must marry only a Muslim man, because guardianship is in the hands of the man.” The sermons were published on the Masjid Al-Huda YouTube channel.

Sheikh Shaaban Aboubadria on August 3, 2018: I've read that some girl, or some woman, said that hijab is not a religious obligation. She wants to go out as she pleases. [She also said that] the hijab is not mentioned in the Quran, and that the word hijab, as it appears in the Quran, means "barrier." They spread doubts regarding this matter. That girl wants to uncover her hair, wear makeup, and become a commodity.

Why does this woman go to the hairdresser? What does she wants him to do to her head? Or maybe she wants him to do other things? Doesn't she go there so he can accentuate the beauty of her head and hair? She dyes one lock green, one lock red, one lock black, and to hell with it all… Allah ordered [women] to cover up their beauty and not display it.

I am sure that [those women] know nothing about the Quran, and that they merely repeat what is dictated to them by those criminals, who want women to have the freedom to go naked.

I almost kill myself preaching, and the men listen, but then they walk with their wives, who are dressed like trash. So who am I preaching to? A woman goes naked only when her husband has become a she-camel. When men turn into she-camels and stop performing their role, their wives go naked and all dolled up. Let me say to the fathers, brothers, and husbands: Be real men!

You men are the commanders of your homes – even though, in this day and age, this is up for debate. Many men have no authority at home but over a single remote control – not even all the remote controls, just the one in their room. As for the rest of the remote controls – everyone is free to use them as they please. Unfortunately, this is one of the manifestations of the false secularism. When the character of the commander of the home is erased, chaos ensues.

On March 30, 2018: Are the airplanes that destroy cities merciful? What about the tanks and rockets that wipe entire cities out of existence, killing thousands of young people and women, and annihilating whole nations? They only care about dogs and cats, even though Man is the greatest of all creatures.

Their sense of mercy is upside-down: They care about animals – even cows – but they do not care about Man, the greatest of all Allah's creatures.

On April 27, 2018: Why do some [Muslim] men allow their daughters to marry non-Muslims? It is not allowed. We [can marry non-Muslim women] because we believe in their prophets. If you marry a Christian woman – it's okay because you believe in Jesus. If you marry a Jewish woman – it's okay because you believe in Moses.

But when a non-Muslim man marries a Muslim woman, he does not believe in or respect the Prophet Muhammad, and will give her a hard time when she wants to pray.

If a Muslim man marries a Christian woman, he is obligated by Islamic law to take her to church every Sunday.

But will a Christian man take his Muslim wife to the mosque? He doesn't recognize her religion in the first place. That is why Islam forbids marrying [non-Muslim men]. For her own good, a Muslim woman must marry only a Muslim man, because guardianship is in the hands of the man.
