Muhammad Madbuli, Egyptian Publisher Who Specializes in Anti-Semitic Books: The Jews Strip Us of Everything We Have

Following are excerpts from an interview with Muhammad Madbuli of Madbuli Publishers, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on June 24, 2006.

Muhammad Madbuli: Camp David harmed Egypt even more than the wars.

Interviewer: How?

Muhammad Madbuli: Because of the poisons brought into the country. The Jews strip us of everything we have. They come and buy our children these days. It is as if we haven't done anything.

Interviewer: Mr. Madbuli, many of your books are against the Jews and against Israel. Do you encourage books of this kind?

Muhammad Madbuli: Look, I am against people saying "Don't go to Israel," even though I hate Israel - because that way I can know what my enemy is up to.

It has become clear, from Camp David until now, that there are things we do not know about (Israel). The nuclear bomb - did you know anything about it?

Interviewer: Only recently.

Muhammad Madbuli: We have to take these things into account - there are people who are planning to annihilate (us). I said this to the Israeli attache. He brought me two dictionaries, and talked to me about importing them from Israel. I refused.

Interviewer: The Israeli attache?

Muhammad Madbuli: The cultural attache.

Interviewer: He came to the bookshop?

Muhammad Madbuli: Yes.

Interviewer: Did he want you to publish books for him?

Muhammad Madbuli: He brought me two dictionaries: Hebrew-Arabic and Arabic-Hebrew. I said to him: We are not against knowledge. We are against these people, because you are devils from within, not human beings.

Interviewer: You said: "You are devils from within"?

Muhammad Madbuli: That's right. Not human beings. The attache said to me: "My brother, why do you hate us so much?" I said: "You want to know why? Let's go outside." I said: "You see this tree?" He said: "Yes." I said: "You are its enemy." The man blushed. I said to him: "You are the enemies of every living creature."

There is nothing honorable in your history. You are people of money, prostitution, banks, gold, and petrol. You do all this in order to suck (the blood) of the peoples, and to fight them by means of your knowledge. You, human beings? No way!

I said to him: "If there were no Jews in the world, there would be no destruction. Since you are in the world, there is destruction everything."

Interviewer: How did he respond?

Muhammad Madbuli: He cursed me and left.
