Ahead of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) hearing in The Hague, Palestinian ambassador to Nigeria Abdullah Abu Shawesh said in a telephone interview on a January 9, 2024 program on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar), that Israel is spreading lies about the atrocities committed on October 7. He continued to suggest that the Israelis have stolen 150 corpses of Palestinian children from Gaza and that they might burn and behead them in order to produce them as evidence of the atrocities committed on October 7.
Abdullah Abu Shawesh: "October 7 is a fact, and we should not deny that it was a difficult and not a simple thing that occurred on October 7. However, all the lies spread by Israel, like the rape of women, which is unacceptable and should be unacceptable in all languages, the killing of civilians, the beheading of 40 babies... All these lies were spread, first and foremost, by Benjamin Netanyahu, during his conversation with the U.S. president.

"The Israelis will make many claims. They stole corpses of Palestinians and of Palestinian children. They dug up graves..."
Interviewer: "Yesterday. 150 [corpses] yesterday... Yesterday [they reported] about 150 [killed] to be exact."
Abdullah Abu Shawesh: "Right. We have a feeling that this criminal country might behead the [corpses] of children that it stole from the graves, and then present them as evidence, or that it will burn children and Palestinian corpses to present them as evidence in the coming days."
