Following are excerpts from footage of a Palestinian protest against the FC Barcelona match for peace scheduled to take place in Israel. The footage was posted on the Internet on April 10, 2013.
Footage shows demonstrators wearing FC Barcelona shirts, running toward the separation wall. They remove their shirts, place them on the coils of barbed wire, douse them with gasoline, and then set fire to them.
Demonstrator: Fuck Barcelona.
Another demonstrator: Yeah, fuck 'em, yeah?
Demonstrators: Fuck Barcelona. Fuck Barcelona.
Demonstrator: This is the message to the Barcelona team from the Palestinian people that they must stop the plan to play against the Israeli team. They have to boycott the Israeli team and not to play with them.
As Palestinians, we love Barcelona, but not with the Israeli team. They have to boycott them. They have to stop the plan to come here to Israel and to play with the Israeli team.
Another demonstrator: They're coming here on the 21st of July, yeah?
Demonstrator: Yes, and this action was to stop them, to send a message to them to stop this play with the Israeli team.
