A September 28, 2024 Iranian TV show discussed possible Iranian responses for the assassination of Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Channel 3 TV. Amirhossein Tahmasebi said that Iranians are "itching for blood vengeance for Nasrallah." His co-host said that the only way to prevent "Israel's atrocities" is to attack American targets in the region. A guest on the show, political analyst Hamid Reza Gholamzadeh, said that Israel seeks to bring the United States into the war with Iran, but the United States does not want to engage Iran, nor does it have the capabilities to do so.
Amirhossein Tahmasebi: "Certainly, we are itching for blood vengeance for Hassan Nasrallah. We have not forgotten that in this very show about foreign policy, we talked about blood vengeance for Ismail Haniyeh. Now, we have to replace the name Haniyeh with Sayyed Hassan. It really should not be like this. Think of something and take measures urgently, so a TV host would not have to say that we need to decide how to avenge Nasrallah."
Mahdi Khanalizadeh: "Now, the best and only way to prevent Israel's atrocities is to attack the resources, forces, and capabilities of the U.S. in the region. This must happen, and should have happened already, unrelated to anything and regardless of the painful news that we heard today. Since the Zionists have changed the rules [of engagement], they have to be treated according to new rules."

Hamid Reza Gholamzadeh: "We have to retaliate seriously in order to decrease the tension, and to prevent the [Israeli] regime's rampant progress. The [Israeli] regime hopes for the U.S. to enter this war, but the U.S. does not have the will nor the capability to face Iran in this war. This is completely clear from documents and remarks by U.S. officials, and from the circumstances of their current foreign policy.
"The Americans have no desire to enter the region and face Iran in war. If the U.S. had such a desire, it would not have hesitated for a moment to engage Iran in war, but it lacks the required resources and capabilities. Their priority is Russia and China and they do not want to engage here.
"The Zionist regime's assumption – that increasing the tension would lead Iran to enter the war and therefore the U.S. would enter as well – is wrong. Assuming that the United States would enter the war is wrong. In fact, we have to attack and inflict a heavy blow so the Zionist regime will need America's involvement. Once it becomes clear that the U.S. is not entering the war, their fragile image will be destroyed."
