Ayatollah Abolghasem Yaghoubi, Khamenei's representative in Iran's Northern Khorasan Province, said in a May 31, 2019 Friday sermon he delivered in honor of Quds Day in Bojnurd, Iran that Ali Ibn Abi Talib had referred to the Jews – and in particular the Zionist Jews – as the worst enemy of the Muslims, and he said that international Zionism is the Muslims' primary enemy. He explained that the English and the colonialists had conspired to place the Zionists' "illegitimate child" in the heart of the Islamic world and that the Zionists manipulate America. Ayatollah Yaghoubi also said that the "Arab reactionaries" that are reaching out to Israel is also the enemy of the Muslims, explaining that they are the puppets of the Jews. The speech aired on Khorasan Shomali TV (Iran).
Abolghasem Yaghoubi: "The very last statement in the will of Emir of the Believers [Ali Ibn Abi Talib], which was made as he was on his deathbed, was: 'Oh Muslims, the worst, most stubborn and most grudge-filled of your enemies are the Jews – particularly the Zionist Jews.' They became a party and a political organization, and that's how the cancerous growth in the heart of the Islamic countries was created. This was a conspiracy by England and the colonialists to place this illegitimate child at the heart of the Islamic countries, and today it has become a source of trouble for the world of Islam.
