Russian FM Spokesperson: Kerry's UNSC Speech on Syria Was a Poor Show

#5696 | 00:59
Source:

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova Slammed U.S. Secretary of State Kerry's speech on Syria at the U.N. Security Council, which was delivered on September 22. Zakharova said that the Americans were trying to make themselves the center of the discussion, instead of having serious talks. Her statements were broadcast by the Russia 24 TV channel.

Following are excerpts

Maria Zakharova: The American delegation, headed by Secretary of State Kerry, delivered a show. This was definitely a show for millions of people, and first and foremost, for the media - for the press and the cameras - whose attention is currently focused [on the UN Security Council] in New York. It was a very poor show. No facts were presented. One can refute their version at once. It is not up to [international standards]. The [show] looked like it was agonizing. On the one hand, there is serious talk on Syria, while on the other hand, there are [American] efforts to make themselves the center of the discussion. It's not working.
