Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, Mother Of The Emir Of Qatar: Artificial Intelligence Was Used To Fabricate Stories In The Gaza War And To Block Documentation Of The Atrocities Perpetrated By Israel

Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, mother of the Emir of Qatar and chairperson of the Qatar Foundation spoke at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) about the challenges of artificial intelligence. She said that AI has been used to fabricate incidents and stories during the Gaza war, as well as to block videos and publication of the "atrocities" committed by Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank. Sheikha Moza asked which stories will be selected by AI for its historical archives. Sheikha Moza's speech was aired on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) on November 28, 2023.

Sheikha Moza bint Nasser: "The WISE (Initiative) this year has chosen to focus on the horizons of artificial intelligence, to discuss its problems, and how we could properly invest the capabilities and possibilities it offers.

"We have seen, during the Gaza war, how artificial intelligence is used to make up stories and fabricate incidents, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, to block, images, and video excerpts that show the atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces, against the people of Gaza and the West Bank. This makes us question: Whose stories will be selected by the AI for the historical archives? Whose history will be told?"
