Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, chairperson of the Qatar Foundation and mother of the Emir of Qatar said in a speech posted on her YouTube channel on September 9, 2024 that she is angry and disappointed with the world leaders who kept silent in the face of the "genocide" perpetrated in Gaza. She said that anyone who is silent in the face of this aggression is encouraging it.

Sheikha Moza bint Nasser: "We have failed you, oh children of Gaza. International law and UN resolutions have not protected you, nor have the international agreements.

[...]

"I am angry at the scale and number of crimes committed in Gaza. I am angry at the blatant silence that has exposed our [lack of] humanity, which has run away from the reality of the tragedy, and engaged in [actions] that contradict its lofty principles. I am angry at the international community, which claims to be civilized. Gaza has exposed these claims and has declared that it is dying. I am angry at world leaders, who were outraged by one war and remained silent for a long time about another. I am angry at leaders who always talk about human rights and international law, yet they remain silent about the genocide in Gaza.

"I am angry at leaders whom we have heard many times saying that Palestine was their main cause, but their positions show no evidence of that.

[...]

"What is happening in Gaza has unveiled the barbarity of a world, which has claimed to be civilized. We thought it really was, but it has disappointed us. I do not mean only people who commit crimes and kill women and children, but also everybody who has supported this cruel aggression with money and supplies. People who have chosen to remain silent or to watch what is happening in Gaza from the sidelines are overtly or covertly encouraging this aggression."
