On October 14, 2023 a show aired on Mayadeen TV, which is affiliated with the Iran led "resistance axis," in which Abbas Zaki of the Fatah Central Committee and Osama Hamdan of Hamas's Political Bureau discussed the October 7 invasion of Israel and its implications. Zaki praised the October 7 invasion, saying that "there has been a Palestinian revival." Zaki continued to say that the time has come for a united front that is capable of defeating the Americans, "who use the Israelis as a proxy to accomplish their goals." He warned that if Israeli PM Netanyahu begins to crush Gaza, "then the skulls of all the Jews and Americans in the region will be crushed." Zaki said that he is friends with Osama Hamdan and that they understand each other.
To this, Osama Hamdan replied that Hamas is prepared to repeat the same "ruse" it employed in Gaza "hand in hand" with Zaki in the West Bank. Elsewhere on the show, Hamdan said that the Israeli captives in Gaza are not hostages, they are prisoners of war, and that the issue of these POWs will be discussed after the "aggression" is over, not under fire. He continued to say that 90% of the "settlers" in the Gaza Envelope do not want to return to settler there. Hamdan added that the settlers in the West Bank fear that what happened in the Gaza Envelope will happen there too, and he added: "inshallah, in the near future it will indeed happen in the West bank."
Abbas Zaki: "After October 7, there has been a Palestinian revival. We thank the Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades for making these preparations. Once they set out, they know how to finish the job, without relinquishing our goals – stopping the fighting, lifting the siege, swapping prisoners, as well as a complete [Israeli] withdrawal from the West Bank, and the establishment of a [Palestinian] state."

Osama Hamdan: "At first, in all the contacts about the prisoners swap, the American term 'hostages' was used. We rejected using this term. There are no hostages. There are POWs. We know the rules of treating POWs. We have experience with POWS, and the world has seen how we treated those POWs. The issue of POWS will be discussed after the aggression is over. It will be not discussed under fire, as the [Hamas] leadership of the Al-Qassam Brigades has stressed. As for the other issues, we have made ourselves clear. Everything will be concluded when the aggression is over."

Zaki: :The time has come for a united front that is capable of defeating the Americans, who use the Israelis as a proxy to accomplish their goals. We are certain that the future is ours. Mr. Netanyahu said today [sic]: '[The Hasmoneans] survived 80 years, I want to make sure we survive 100.' Well, if he begins to crush Gaza, the skulls of all the Jews and Americans in the region will be crushed."

Hamdan: "Today, the results of a survey were published, according to which 90% of the settlers in the Gaza Envelope decided not to return there, regardless of the [Israeli] military operation. I believe that this is one of the most important achievements of this attack. I will even go so far as saying that the settlers in the West Bank do not find it enticing to settle there, because what happened in Gaza may happen – Inshallah, in the near future it will indeed happen – in the West Bank."
Zaki: "I am pleased with Osama Hamdan. We are friends. We understand each other. Victory has been promised to us. The ruse by Hamas, how it prepared [for the attack], and how it accomplished this victory – I believe that people will emulate this. It may happen [in the West Bank]. If they want to slaughter the entire Palestinian people, they will be the ones slaughtered."
Hamdan: "We are prepared to repeat this ruse and this attack in the West Bank, hand in hand with you."
Zaki: "Please God..."
