On May 26, 2024 Masjid Al-Haqq in Newark, NJ hosted an event titled: "Reparations for Gaza: Antisemitism vs. Anti-Zionism." A speaker introduced as "Imam Rashad" said that Judaism and Zionism are incompatible and irreconcilable, and that Zionism is a rebellion against God and treason against the Jewish people. He stated: "If one is a good Jew, one cannot be a Zionist." Imam Rashad added: "I don't believe for one moment that Netanyahu is a Jew."
Another speaker, introduced as "Imam Musa," who is originally from Palestine, said that the Zionist leaders' strategy to make Jews immigrate to Palestine involved collaboration with the Nazis. He asked: "The Jews were kicked out of 109 countries, I was wondering why?" Imam Musa further suggested that the Zionist control the world through their control of Jerusalem, and that they seek to control the financial markets and the press in order to advance their agenda.
Larry Hamm of the People's Organization for Progress spoke as part of his New Jersey Senate Democratic Party primary elections (which he since has lost). He said that the Israelis want to get the Palestinians out of Gaza, because they just discovered huge reserves of oil and gas off the coast of Gaza and because they want to build the Ben Gurion Canal. Larry Hamm was the New Jersey chairman of Bernie Sanders' Presidential Campaign in 2020 and a delegate for Bernie Sanders at the 2016 Democratic Convention.
Hakim Said: "The International [Criminal] Court has decided that this is genocide, and the leader of Hamas – please forgive me, I don't remember his name – and Netanyahu are criminals, and they are asking for a warrant for their arrest. President Biden says: 'Oh man, this is outrageous, this is ridiculous.' Of course he has to say that, because he is a co-conspirator. They might go after him next, and they have the right to go after him."

Imam Rashad: "Judaism and Zionism are by no means the same. They are not the same, they are incompatible, irreconcilable.
"If one is a good Jew, one cannot be a Zionist, period, and if one is a Zionist, one cannot be a good Jew. I don't believe for one moment that Netanyahu is a Jew. He can wear all the yarmulkes he wants, he is a straight up Zionist.

Imam Musa: "The Zionist leaders [used] various strategies to accomplish their goals.

"They had worked [using] a strategy like this – encourage the Jewish immigration to come to Palestine, to advance the idea that there is a land without a people, a misleading strategy, including collaboration with the Nazis and other countries in order for them to create a homeland for the Jewish people. They worked on different strategies also by buying the lands. By the way, the Jews have been kicked out of 109 countries. I was wondering why?

"Their eyes [are] on occupying Jerusalem, because Jerusalem is very holy to the Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Once they control Jerusalem, they control the world, as we see right now.

"As far as Zionism, as people of faith, as Muslims, Christians, and Jews, everyone is going to condemn Zionism, this is like a terrorist organization.
"They advance their ideas by controlling the financial markets, the press, everything they can control to advance their cause. The whole purpose of creating the State of Israel was just [so they could] do whatever they want to do outside, and go get refuge in that state."

Larry Hamm: "It is a genocidal war. Can I say it in another way? It is an attempt to exterminate the Palestinians as a people. I mean, let's be clear on what is going on – the other speakers made it clear – this is an attempt to literally move them [from the land], wipe them clean.

"Why do they want to get them out of Gaza? Something I am sure you, a more conscious audience, know, they just discovered huge reserves of oil and gas off the coast of Gaza. You understand this, with imperialism there is always an ulterior motive. Their lips speak with the words 'human rights' and 'justice', but their actions support genocide, extermination, oppression, and exploitation.
"The other thing is... Why do they want them to get off Gaza is because they want to build another canal. They are going to call it – correct me if I'm wrong, Imam Musa, they are going to call it the Ben Gurion Canal."
