In an August 8, 2014 report on the tunnels of the Islamic Jihad in Gaza, footage is shown of the missile-launching pads, with missiles at the ready. "This image... emphasizes that the resistance is ready for another round of the confrontation with Israel," says the Mayadeen TV reporter.
Following are excerpts:
Reporter: This is the city of Gaza above ground. Underground, however, it is a whole different story. Here, there is a complete, sprawling city, whose roads, corridors, and rooms are known to the resistance fighters only.
Islamic Jihad fighter: This is where the tunnel begins. Here we have a secured hatch for the tunnel, which can be used at zero hour, in times of escalation.
Reporter: A tour of this tunnel shows you some of the tactics used by the resistance in attacking Israel. Through this tunnel, the fighters transfer weapons, ammunition, and missiles.
Islamic Jihad fighter: This is a strategic tunnel, used for strategic operations, such as launching long-range missiles, as well as 107 mm and locally-made rockets.
Another Islamic Jihad fighter: Here you see a place where the mujahideen can rest. As you can see, the brothers are on high alert, ready for any escalation.
Here we have some strategic missiles. The missiles are stored within the tunnel. This is one of the strategic launching pads. The missile is on the pad, ready to be launched. All we need to do is open the hatch from underneath, and the missile, which is aimed in advance, will be launched.
As you have seen, there are more missiles. After this missile is launched, another is loaded to the same pad.
Reporter: Israel considered its greatest achievement to be the demolition of the resistance tunnels in its latest aggression. This image speaks for itself. It emphasizes that the resistance is ready for another round of the confrontation with Israel.
