In Al-Suqaylabiyah, a Christian city in Syria, a Christmas tree erected in the center of town on December 21, 2024, was set on fire and then later restored. According to media reports, the tree was set on fire by masked Islamist militants, while a Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) religious leader claimed that the perpetrators were not Syrian. The cleric pledged to have the tree restored and lit up.
