Muhammad Tahir An'am, a member of the Yemeni-Houthi Supreme Political Council issued in a May 5, 2024 interview with Al-Alam TV (Iran) threats of Yemeni retaliation in case Israel starts an attack in Rafah. He said that the Houthis will compile a "blacklist" of companies that trade with Israel and target their ships, wherever in the world they may be.
Muhammad Tahir An'am: "As the spokesperson of the Yemeni armed forces said, the fourth stage will include targeting Zionist ships and ships sailing towards the Zionist entity in the Mediterranean Sea. This is the major development.
"In previous stages, we targeted Zionist ships [and ships] sailing towards ports in the occupied Palestinian lands, in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean. Now, in the fourth stage, we will target ships that are approaching ports in the occupied Palestinian lands in the Mediterranean Sea. This is one of the features of the fourth stage of the escalation.
"The other feature is the threat that if the invasion of Rafah begins – as some of the leaders of the Zionist entity are threatening to do – the Yemeni armed forces will target the ships of every company that cooperates with the Zionist entity. The ships of all the European, American, and other companies that bring merchandise and supplies to the Zionist entity will be targeted everywhere, regardless of whether they are on their way to the Palestinian lands or not. There will be a blacklist of those companies, and they will be targeted everywhere, if the operation in Rafah begins."
