The hacktivist group Anonymous announced a campaign against jihadi websites under the banner of #OpCharlieHebdo after the terrorist attack on the satirical publication. Anonymous launched DDoS attacks on several websites, including for the Ansar Al-Haqq group.
In response, the pro-Palestinian hacker group AnonGhost launched a counter offensive, targeting numerous French websites (see list here) under the banner of its own #OpFrance. Defaced pages featured the following images:
