Houthi Ansar Allah Movement Claims Interception Of U.S. Drone Above Yemen, Drone And Missile Attack On Commercial Vessel In Red Sea; Threatens: We Will Continue To Perform Our 'Jihadi Duties'

Between September 2 and 7, 2024, Yemen's Iran-backed Ansar Allah Movement (the Houthis) claimed responsibility for a drone and missile attack that targeted the vessel the BLUE LAGOON I in the Red Sea, just two days after claiming responsibility for an attack on the GROTON container vessel in the Gulf of Aden. The Houthis also claimed to have intercepted "an American MQ-9 aircraft in the airspace above Yemen's Ma'rib Governorate, in their eighth such interception during "the Battle of the Promised Victory and the Holy Jihad in support of Gaza."
