On November 12 it was reported that a hacker group calling itself the Islamic Cyber Army targeted a number of Iranian websites on behalf of ISIS, leaving messages on the defaced pages calling on Iran to cease its war on the Islamic State. The hackers threatened to publish "classified information of [the] Iranian government" online unless the demands were met.
