In recent weeks, the Islamic State (ISIS) media apparatus has focused on highlighting the importance of media activity as a component of jihad. ISIS has long considered media activity an integral part of jihad and has often stressed its significance in its official and unofficial communications, encouraging supporters to assume an active role in its media efforts by producing, sharing, and distributing content online.
