On July 26, 2016, it was reported that the Saudi OurMine hacking team had gained access to the popular technology blog TechCrunch. According to the report, the group seemed to have gained access to the site's content management system (CMS) via one of the writers' accounts due to his or her poor password practices. OurMine managed to publish an article on the site under the writer's name, put banners on top of the site, and appealed to the owner of the account to write in to retrieve their account. TechCrunch was able to quickly roll back the changes made by the hack.
