On December 19, 2022, a pro-Al-Qaeda media outlet published the first issue of a bulletin called "Awareness - A Supporter's Publication From the Arabian Peninsula."
The publication focuses exclusively on a counterterrorism institute, the Riyadh-based Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), and discusses the reason behind its founding, its objectives, and the role jihad supporters online can play in countering such "projects."
The outlet encourages supporters online to remain resilient and continue to create accounts, despite the ongoing shutdown campaign by Telegram. It calls on them to diversify their presence using all available social platforms, while trying to circumvent the algorithms put in place to detect key jihadi terms such as Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabab, jihad, and others. Users are encouraged to "expand, not retreat," because wherever the mujahideen are silent, a door is left open to "the people of disbelief" to spread their message. Therefore, the bulletin encourages supporters not to be distracted by earthly concerns, and instead focus their efforts on spreading the message of the mujahideen to the whole Islamic nation.
