According to a report, during the July-August 2014 fighting in Gaza, the Palestinian resistance's own telecommunication network, which is similar to the one Hizbullah developed during the July 2006 war in Lebanon, enabled large-scale coordination among the factions,
According to the report, the internal telecom network helped prevent Israeli intelligence from accessing private communications among the Palestinian resistance factions. Resistance field commanders said that it had reduced the number of casualties among resistance fighters.
The private landline telecommunication network that the Palestinians established after the first Gaza war, in the winter of 2009, was not used effectively in the next war in November 2012 because it was yet not fully equipped, the report said.
"Establishing a private communications network for the Resistance was no less important than manufacturing rockets or preparing for the battle that was waged in Gaza for over a month." Said Abu Ahmed, a commander in the armored unit in the northern Gaza Strip.
