On October 2, 2014, the Twitter account for the Syrian Electronic Army (@Official_SEA16) announced that it had successfully hacked the Twitter account of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The SEA posted a series of screenshots showing the tweets they had sent from UNICEF's account during the time they had control over it, in which they accused the 'moderate opposition' of killing 49 children under the age of 12 in an operation in Homs, Syria, on October 1, 2014, which involved a car bomb and suicide bomber attack on an elementary school. The tweets were made in both English and Arabic.
