On October 12, 2014, the official Twitter account for the Free Syrian Army (@Official_SEA16) announced that the group was launching a page on the Russian social network VK.com. This, after repeated closure of the group's Facebook page.
Recently, many jihadi groups and supporters have been using VK, after recent crackdowns on jihadi content on American social networks such as Facebook and Twitter became more common.
