On July 8, 2020 an Al-Qaeda-linked media outlet posted a link to download the group's app on its Telegram channel, reminding followers that the app is completely separate from other social media platforms, and especially from Telegram. This, the channel claimed, will help avoid deletions and suspensions. The app, said the post, allows users to follow news about the latest operations, articles, and reports. The outlet promised to continue to report on activities of the mujahideen regardless of the "Crusader" campaign to delete such content.
