Three Chechen Girls Scam ISIS Fighters Into Sending Them Money For Supposed Travel To Syria

On August 6 2015, it was reported that three 17-year-old Chechen girls had managed to perform a "catfish" scam on ISIS fighters in Syria by getting them to send the girls money after they had expressed desire to immigrate to the country. The girls used fake social media accounts to fool the ISIS members, and closed them all once the money had been sent.
