On February 7, 2023, a user of the Islamic State (ISIS)-operated Rocket.Chat server published a post explaining the benefits of an Intrusion Detection Network (IDN), describing it as "a system that monitors a network for signs of unauthorized access or malicious activity." The user then explained the difference between network-based IDNs and host-based IDN, and concluded by saying: "It's important to note that IDNs are just one part of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. Servers should also consider implementing other measures, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and employee training, to help protect against cyber threats."
