A hacker claiming to be an ally of the Islamic State (ISI) has managed to hack the official website of Tsinghua University, one of China's most high-profile universities.
The hacker left a deface page with Arabic-language verses from Islamic scripture, accompanied by Arabic music.
Following the hack, the website, tsinghua.edu.cn, which usually shows links to departmental information and links to class resources, displayed ISIS content and an image of four hooded fighters with ISIS flags on horseback.
The website's screenshots show that at the time of the hack, the intruder exposed his identity as an "Islamist State Hacker." They also posted a phrase underneath the image of the mounted fighters reading: "Everything is okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end."
The Arabic message read: "God is great, I am unafraid of death, dying a martyr's death is my ultimate goal."
