Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad said in a December 12, 2020 public address reported by Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) that there is a "real ambition" to bring the Israeli entity and Zionism to Algeria's borders. He said that Algeria's stability is being targeted by attacks from across the border, and that North Africa is experiencing threats, instability, and wars. PM Djerad made his remarks after it was announced that Morocco would normalize relations with Israel.
Abdelaziz Djerad: "Algeria is being targeted. We tell our citizens about foreign attacks from across the border that target the stability of our country, and today we see the evidence. We see on all our borders, in the entire Maghreb and our African surroundings, threats, instability, and wars. Today, there is a real ambition to bring the Israeli entity to our border, to bring Zionism near our border."
