In Chinese Propaganda TV Series, PLA Fighter Pilot Says: If I Run Out Of Ammo In Combat, I'll Sacrifice My Life And Use My Plane As A Missile

On August 6, 2023, the Military Fans Worldwide YouTube channel posted the fifth episode of the Chinese military-themed propaganda TV series "Chasing Dreams," which was released last year by China Central Television (CCTV). The episode depicts an encounter between a squadron of Chinese fighter jets and a "foreign military aircraft." After the encounter, one of the pilots says: "When collision seemed imminent, we were all prepared to sacrifice our lives... We fight to the end [and] to show our great fortitude. If I exhausted all my ammunition in real combat, my fighter would become my final weapon, striking the enemy like a missile."

PLA Fighter Pilot: "As the lead plane, I command the formation to charge directly towards the foreign aircraft. At distances of 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and as close as 1 kilometer, when collision seemed imminent, we were all prepared to sacrifice our lives. However, the foreign military aircraft abruptly turned to avoid us and escaped. We fight to the end: what do we fight for? To show our great fortitude. If I exhausted all my ammunition in real combat, my fighter would become my final weapon, striking the enemy like a missile."
