Following are excerpts from an interview with an anti-Bush protester, demonstrating outside the White House. The interview was aired on New TV on November 23, 2005.
Interviewer: Why are you against George Bush?
Protester: Because he is a war criminal. His sick actions... What he's doing is unbelievable. Iraq - there is no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. They lie. He - the president lie to the United States people and to the people of the world, dragging all the leaders into an invasion. It's not a war in Iraq - it's an invasion.
Interviewer: Do you think that somebody will hear you - somebody will hear your... that you are against George Bush? Did somebody talk to you from the White House to tell you to go from here?
Protester: Well, the White House is sending people - which is the police. Yes, I have been arrested a number of times. I have been beaten by Marines. They go to Iraq to defend freedom - and that's what I'm practicing here... So... and gassing by police. So that's a lot of... to do by them. But I survive, like I said before, with cruelty in front of the White House, which is not democracy. It is a house of assassins - where they order assassinations. Yes, they do. The United States issue in the newspapers that they have the license to assassinate any leader in the world. So it's the house of the assassins.
Interviewer: You are American or you are from the Arab world? Your nationality - I want to know.
Protester: I'm citizen of the world.
Interviewer: You are American?
Protester: Arabs are human beings every... we are all human beings – it's not the domination of religions. It's human beings – there is only one human kind. One human family. But now we've got to demand that Israel withdraw from the occupied territories, that Israel stop assassinations every day. Every day it's going like a hunting, as a routine. Going to the Gaza Strip, Jenin, or Jericho - whatever - and kill people with gunshots and helicopters - Apache helicopters. Sharon is the most vicious and criminal on earth.
