Egyptian Islamic Scholar Zaghloul Al-Naggar said that Bill Gates and other wealthy "human devils" are trying to curtail the world's population and to "exterminate nonproductive and backward nations" by spreading viruses, such as the coronavirus, celibacy, birth control, and killing old people. He made these remarks in an interview that aired on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) on April 21, 2021. Al-Naggar said that "all this is well-known, no one denies this." He explained that Bill Gates believes that only wealthy people are allowed to live on this planet and that African and Asian nations must be exterminated. Interviewer: "You spoke about the coronavirus in the past and said that it was created by evil men. Do you still hold the same opinion or has it changed? And what do you think about the vaccines that are currently available?"
Zaghloul Al-Naggar: "I am not a doctor, so I cannot rule in the matter of the vaccines, but the spreading of these viruses is a dangerous scientific tool employed by Satan by means of human devils – the wealthy people of our modern age. The Davos Summit, which is held in Switzerland annually, is lead by these devils.
"The idea [of the coronavirus] emerged in the 19th century, when a British economist wrote a book titled The Economy and the Population. In the book, he wrote that he had noticed that population growth doubles every quarter of a century, and that the economic growth cannot keep up with this growth. Therefore, the number of people in the world must be limited. He said that there should not be more than half a billion people in the world. A granite monument was discovered in the capital city of one of the American states with these words written on it.
"[According to this theory] celibacy must be encouraged, there must be birth control, old people must be killed, and viruses must be used to exterminate non-productive and backward nations. All this is well-known, no one denies this.
"Many people attacked Bill Gates, because he is one of the leaders of this campaign. He claims that only wealthy people are entitled to live on this planet and that African and Asian nations must be annihilated, because they are non-productive nations that do not contribute anything to modern civilization."
