Egyptian political activist Dr. Mamdouh Hamza recently said that although both Hosni Mubarak and Mohamed Morsi had been removed from power by "knockout blows" supported by the army, President Al-Sisi had to be beaten through elections. "This president is leading Egypt to bankruptcy," said Hamza. "If a boxer cannot win by a knockout - like we did in the previous two rounds - he tries to win by points." His statements were posted on the Internet on February 12, 2016.

Dr. Mamdouh Hamza: We got rid of Mubarak in a knockout blow, within 18 days. But let's not forget that at that time, it was in the army's best interest to support the revolution, because it did not want Gamal Mubarak to rule Egypt. The army did not want a revolution, but it exploited it to achieve its goals. That's why the army helped to deal Hosni Mubarak a knockout blow. We got rid of Morsi in a knockout blow too, because the army wanted to regain the rule from the Muslim Brotherhood. The army had a goal, and so it sided with the people in its demand to get rid of Morsi. At present the army rules, and it holds the authority and the power. Therefore, we cannot deal it a knockout blow. We cannot achieve the goals of the revolution by means of another revolution or another knockout blow, because this would lead to a massacre. We need to win through points, in the next elections. I hope that the presidential elections will be moved forward, because this president is leading Egypt to bankruptcy. He has turned all the Egyptians into hungry people and beggars. He has turned Egypt into a worthless country in the region.

We need to gain ground and win points just like in the boxing ring. If a boxer cannot win by a knockout - like we did in the previous two rounds - he tries to win by points. Our goal now is only to win by points.
