Former Lebanese Ambassador to the U.S. Gabriel Issa: The American Demand That We Take Away Hizbullah’s Weapons Could Lead Us to a Civil War

#9507 | 02:36
Source: OTV (Lebanon)

Former Lebanese ambassador to the United States Gabriel Issa said in an April 14, 2022 show on OTV (Lebanon) that the Americans are pushing the Lebanese people towards a civil war by inciting the Lebanese army to take away the weapons of the Lebanese “resistance”. He said that he supports the presence of Hizbullah’s weapons on the border, but not within Lebanon or across the border. Issa also said that he had confronted American senior officials, telling them that it was the Americans who were responsible for the Syrian invasion of Lebanon and for imposing the ruling system outlined by the Taif Agreement. He added that the Americans denied responsibility for this and blamed the Saudis. Note: This is a corrected version. The clip of this interview posted before included a translation error.
