Hamas's Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades Spokesman Abu Ubaida called in an April 23, 2024 statement that was aired on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) on the masses of the Islamic nation to escalate their resistance. He saluted the "Jordanian masses," stating that the enemy fears them most, and called on them to escalate their resistance. He said: "Jordan is a part of us, and we are a part of Jordan." Abu Ubaida said that the West Bank is the "most important front" and that it needs to escalate its resistance, and this could "change everything."
Abu Ubaida: "We call upon the masses of our nation to escalate their resistance activity in all its forms and in all the arenas. The hysterical reaction by the enemy and its masters to the resistance activity that is converging from the various fronts – for the first time in the history of our cause – in terms of its scope and forms... The enemy's reaction points to the impact and importance of this resistance activity, and how much the enemy is fearful, and even terrified, of its escalation.
"The most important front [that needs] to be mobilized and escalated is that of the occupied West Bank, which is the enemy's underbelly. It is the closest front line that can change everything.
"We salute the heroes of the West Bank, from Tulkarm, Jenin, Nablus, Tubas, Ramallah, Qalqilya, Jericho, Bethlehem, Hebron, and every inch of our free and proud West Bank, as well as from our holy capital [Jerusalem].
"In addition, the most important Arab arenas – one of the most important in terms of the popular masses, and which preoccupies the attention of the enemy the most – is that of the dear Jordanian masses. We salute them and call upon them to escalate their activity and raise their voices. Jordan is a part of Jordan, and the same is true of every inch of our Arab and Islamic land."
