Houthi scholar Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Ubeidi referred to the recent American designation of the Houthis as a terrorist organization in a Friday sermon aired on Al-Eman TV (Houthi-Yemen) on January 15, 2021. He said that the policies of the American government never change because it is controlled by the Zionist lobby, which "runs the show" in America, and the Americans don't have the power to get rid of it. He said: "We will trample the American government's declarations under our shoes." Al-Ubeidi elaborated that America has no right to accuse anyone of terrorism because it is "the biggest criminal in the world" and the "mother of all terrorism." He added that it is responsible for the creation of Al-Qaeda and ISIS, which are loyal to the American intelligence agency. Al-Ubeidi said that the U.S. does not have the right to designate an "oppressed group" as a terrorist group. He chanted: "Allah Akbar! Death to America! Death to Israel! Curse be upon the Jews!
