Dr. Haissam Bou Said, the Permanent Representative of the International Human Rights Council to the United Nations, claimed in an August 2, 2022 interview on Al-Alam TV (Iran) that as was the case with Osama Bin Laden, there is no evidence that the United States actually killed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri on July 31, 2022. He said that unless proven otherwise, this is a political trick being employed by the United States, and he suggested that it is an attempt by U.S. President Joe Biden to gain additional popularity.
Dr. Haissam Bou-Said: "Obama, who also suffered from a low number of representatives, also employed the scenario of killing Osama Bin Laden, the former leader of Al-Qaeda, but to this very day, we have not seen any proof of that operation.
"Furthermore, it is said that even people who were near to where Osama Bin Laden was killed were not aware of any military activity in that area.
"So this operation [i.e. killing Al-Zawahiri], for which the U.S. has not provided any tangible evidence... We got used to them providing some sort of evidence for their Hollywood films in the past. This was not so this time. I believe that as long as there isn't any evidence proving the killing of Osama...Sorry, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, then [his killing] remains nothing but a scenario employed by the United States."
