Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: "Like I said before, Russia is our neighbor, as we share [maritime] borders, and we also have mutual interests. We have serious cooperation in the area of energy. We have close cooperation in the fields of defense, equipment, and technology. We have very serious and pivotal opportunities in transit and corridors.
"I do not think that we have taken advantage of all this potential, although there has been more urgency in the past few years. I think that when the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran makes an official visit to Moscow in the near future, it will result in the expansion of our bilateral relations. The finalized strategic agreement will be signed by both sides, inshallah.
"This can hasten the cooperation in different areas."
