In a Friday sermon delivered in Yasuj, Iran on August 11, 2023, Khamenei's Representative in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province Nassir Hosseini said that if the U.S. sends its troops to protect oil tankers in the region, they should know that any "mistake" will be met with a "slap" that will make them regret their actions. Hosseini also said that these American troops should bring adult diapers, since they might soil themselves like he claimed had happened to the U.S. Navy crew apprehended by Iranian forces in 2016. Imam Hosseini's sermon was aired on Dena TV (Iran).
Nassir Hosseini: "The Americans declared that they would arm oil tankers with military forces. If you think security is meant only for a select few, you are mistaken. All oil tankers should have security. It should not be limited to the tankers of the Americans, the British, and their Western supporters.
"If you have the urge to secure oil tankers, don't do it for tankers belonging to others. Know that any mistake on your part will result in a slap from our people, the IRGC, and our army, that will be harsh and cause you to regret [what you've done].

Nassir Hosseini: "If you are sending your troops, take into consideration that they might become terrified and struck with horror. When your [navy crew] were arrested [in 2016], they had some 'problems,' so you had better send them with adult diapers, because they might be faced with scenes that would make them soil themselves."
