Iranian political analyst Emad Abshenas said on a May 23, 2023 show on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) that all the rockets launched by the Palestinian "resistance" at Israel are a "direct response" to Israel attacking Iranian targets in Syria. He said that Iran provides the rockets to the Gaza factions and will continue to do so. Abshenas also said that this retaliation is in addition to the electronic and electric warfare used against Israel.
Interviewer: "In many cases, [Israel] attacked Iranian targets, and targets of the pro-Iranian factions in Syria, causing deaths and injuries, yet there has been no Iranian response."

Emad Abshenas: "So how do you explain the hundreds and thousands of rockets launched by the Palestinian resistance at the Zionist entity? Where have these rockets come from? The Palestinians have declared out in the open that these rockets and these weapons were provided by Iran. Iran also publicly announced that it was providing these weapons to the Palestinian resistance, and will continue to do so.
"If the Zionist entity attacks in Syria or even carries out terrorist attacks, Iran responds. However, since the Zionist entity does not own up to its attacks, Iran also does not own up to its actions. But practically speaking, we see that all the rockets that fall on the heads of the Israelis come from Iran. This is no secret. It is considered part of Iran's response. In addition to the electronic and intelligence warfare, there is this type of direct response."
