Video On TV Channel Affiliated With Iraqi Kata'ib Hizbullah Threatens U.S. Forces: If You Do Not Leave 'Vertically,' You Will Leave 'Horizontally'

On November 10, 2020, Etejah TV – an Iraqi TV channel affiliate with Kata'ib Hizbullah - aired a video in which it threatened the U.S. forces in Iraq. Arabic-language captions explained that the ceasefire is conditional and that the "resistance" is putting its weapons on standby out of respect for the people mediating between the "resistance" and the foreign forces. They added that the U.S. has sustained heavy losses, and that the ceasefire is contingent upon laying out a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq. The captions warned that there will be consequences if the U.S. delays or procrastinates. The Video ends with a warning: "The Americans have to choose between two ways of leaving: Vertically or Horizontally."

Onscreen text: "The Iraqi resistance is giving a provisional opportunity to the foreign forces. The occupation has sustained heavy losses. This has forced it to resort to mediation in order to stop the resistance's attacks, even if temporarily. Out of respect for the patriotic people [involved in the mediation], the Iraqi resistance has decided to suspend its attacks. We are not putting our weapons away – we are just putting them on standby. The decision to cease [attacks] is contingent upon laying out a timetable for the withdrawal of the foreign forces from the country. The Iraqi resistance warns the Americans of the consequences of delays and procrastination, reminding them of the afflictions they suffered at the hands of Iraq's men. The Americans have to choose between two ways of leaving: Vertically or Horizontally."
