Iraqi Hizbullah Brigades spokesman Jaafar Al-Husseini said in a March 21, 2022 interview on Al-Mayadeen TV that his organization has "limited" air-defense capabilities. He explained that he is not at liberty to go into details, and that it is up to the Americans to "test" the extent of its capability and its range.
Interviewer: "Does the Iraqi resistance have air defense capabilities?"
Jaafar Al-Husseini: "To some extent..."
Interviewer: "After all, people are curious...
Al-Husseini: "We have these capabilities to some extent. We have the capability to deter the Americans and protect Iraqi sovereignty. This capability is limited but it does exist."
Interviewer: "People need to hear this. What kind of capability is there? Let us hear the details about this air defense..."
Al-Husseini: "No, no. This air defense capability exists, even though it is limited. However, the resistance has this capability, and it can be developed and expanded. I am not at liberty to go into detail. This would be harmful, obviously. However, I can confirm that this capability exists, even though it is limited. The extent of this capability, its range - we will leave it to the Americans to test it"
