Kuwaiti journalist Fajer Alsaeed, who was recently denied entry and detained at the airport in Beirut for having called for establishing relations with Israel, said in a June 9, 2023 interview on Sawt Beirut International (Lebanon) that either Hizbullah cannot tolerate criticism or that she is having an effect on people. She said that she supports peace with Israel, adding: "We have tried wars with [Israel] but failed." In 2022, following the normalization of relations between Israel and the UAE, Alsaeed had said that Palestinian rejection of the agreement is a "historic mistake." For more information, see MEMRI TV Clip No. 8222.

Fajer Alsaeed: "It seems that Hizbullah has been transformed from a strong and fierce political party into a bunch of gentle and delicate people, who cannot tolerate criticism.

"Either that or my words have started to have an effect on people."

Interviewer: "Are you among those who support peace with Israel?"

Alsaeed: "Absolutely! Absolutely! On the last day of 2018, I said that I hoped that 2019 would bring us peace with Israel. I have explained my opinion on this matter thousands of times. We have tried wars with [Israel] but failed.

[...]

"I come with a message of peace. I spread this message. At the very least, I should use decent language. I cannot say: 'You criminal, I want to have peace with you.' I want to try to bring us closer so we can really build peace."
