Lebanese Sunni Islamic scholar Sheikh Hassan Al-Moraib said in an October 1, 2024 episode of the Tafasil podcast on YouTube that Hamas did not imprison any Israeli civilians. He said that all Israelis are settlers and soldiers, even children younger than 10 carry guns, and therefore there are no Israeli civilians. He stressed that Hamas "arrested soldiers in plain clothes."
Interviewer: "As far as [Israel] is concerned, Hamas abducted civilian settlers."
Hassan Al-Moraib: "Nobody abducted anybody. What are you talking about? Did Hamas imprison civilians? These are no civilians. They are settlers, they belong to the military. We saw them with our own eyes. The Israeli enemy gives weapons to every single one of them – young or old. We saw this with our own eyes. Even children younger than 10 carry guns, and they teach them how to fight.
"They are all plundering settlers. They are strays who came to my land. They are plundering my land, eating my food, drinking my water. What are you talking about? These are no civilians. No Israeli is a civilian. All the Israelis are settlers and soldiers. So Hamas did not rape [sic] civilians. On the contrary, Hamas arrested soldiers in plain clothes.

"The goal is to expel this occupation away from Lebanon and Palestine. They should go back to where they came from. These foundlings should go back to Poland and wherever..."
Interviewer: "Wait, what is the goal?"
Al-Moraib: "Let them go back to France and wherever. Let them go back. They all have dual nationality.

"When I am fighting all the world's countries, but still manage to fire a missile, it means I am winning. Today, I am fighting the entire world. They are giving the Israeli enemy money in the billions and weapons, whereas I am fighting with my flesh and my blood. It means I am winning."
