Lebanese researcher Makram Rabah said in a December 23, 2024 appearance on Voice of Lebanon Radio on YouTube that Hizbullah is over and done with. He added that Lebanon needs to accept that they "got rid of it." Rabah said that Lebanon should learn from Syria - nobody there is talking about Palestine, their first priority is Syria, and Lebanon should do the same.
Makram Rabah: "Hizbullah is over and done with. We need to accept this."
Interviewer: "Naim Qassem is left..."
Rabah: "On his own? Naim Qassem, Wafiq Safa... There is nobody left. Try to think. Which of their leaders do you know? Their MPs were hiding in the parliament bathrooms. Nobody sees in them anymore the Hizbullah that killed Rafic Hariri, the Hizbullah of May 7 [2008], Hizbullah that tried to attack the [Sunni] tribes of Khalde, tried to invade Mount Lebanon... We got rid of them. Hizbullah today is made of people who think themselves as big heroes, but always fail the test.

"Nobody in Syria is talking about Palestine. Have you noticed this? Syria is their top priority. I think that also in Lebanon, we should not be talking about Palestine, because if we want to help the Palestinians in any way, we need to become a normal country first."
